J-C-J Mining,
Inc. is run by my mother, Judy Brown, her brother, Cook Laird, and a cousin,
Jolene Segel. The company mines only Oregon Sunstones, the official Oregon
state gemstone. This particular type of gemstone can be found ONLY in Oregon,
with the primary mines being located outside of Plush, Oregon. Jolene's
father, Joe Banasco, was known as the "Sunstone King". My grandmother,
Edith Laird, also mined a claim. Both of those original claims are now
mined and maintained by the J-C-J Mining family. The stones have a number
of different uses, ranging from carved pieces to jewelry made from rough,
polished or facted Oregon Sunstones. J-C-J Mining, Inc. markets these versitile
gemstones worldwide.
