We love the evergreen trees.
Our backyard teems with local "suburban" wildlife. Both grey and
reddish-brown squirrels frequent our yard, as do many, many varieties of
birds. At one point last winter, we had eight raccoons on our deck
scavenging for food. The wildlife also attracts the pets of our neighbors.
Fortunately, the domesticated hunters seem rarely to be successful.

This photo was taken
in the southwestern corner of the backyard, looking toward the house and
deck. We have only a couple of deciduous trees in our yard, but nearly
fifty evergreens.
